Album Info:This is an album of photos of the railroads of the Pidcock Lines, Georgia Northern, nee Boston and Albany railroad of Georgia; Georgia Ashburn Sylvester and Camilla Railroad, nee Hawkinsville and Florida Southern Railway; Albany and Northern Railway, nee Georgia, Southwestern and Gulf, etc; Flint River and North Eastern Railway and maybe even one little railroad in New Jersey?!

Title:  Georgia Northern Gas Motor car 56
Description:  GANO 56 motor car sitting outside shop in Moultrie. It is coupled to the 172. This car and possibly the GANO 528 were used on the twice daily, except Sunday, local Boston to Moultrie. Two cars sat around the shops until scraped by the Southern about 1966. Date unknown but probably around mid 1950s.

Description:  The Georgia Northern Rwy had 3 freight cars, express cars 501 & 502 and a flat car. The flat car normally sat on the coal yard track behind the coach shops. These two cars are in the shop yard near 5th Ave crossing.

Georgia Northern Rwy station - Moultrie
Title:  Georgia Northern Rwy station - Moultrie
Description:  This shows the platform at the station along with the house track. Each day, the local would come into town, run the wye and place the caboose and express car here at the station. This continued until the REA express went out of business. And, yes, there was a good amount of express business.

Title:  Caboose X153 in Albany
Description:  The GN X153 was parked at its regular location on track 4 at the Albany Passenger Terminal Company station. This photo must have been taken after the end of REA express as the express car is not coupled to the caboose. They were parked here to allow the transfer of express to/from the express car to/from the City of Miami or, earlier, the Seminole.

Description:  The depot at this time looked like it was on its last leg. But, it had at least two more lives ahead of it. The REA Express used this end of the building before it went out of business.

Description:  In the early 1980s I was driving along the track, yes there was still track there, from Boston to Barwick to see what was left. I stumbled upon the depot, or what remained of it. It was being used as a barn for a local farmer. If you look closely, you can see a Southern Rwy style switch stand.

Description:  This is the Public Notice of the Discontinuance of trains 1,2,3,4,5,6 between Albany and Moultrie. I found this posted on the back of the door of the Georgia Northern Passenger Station, which was boarded up at the time, about 1970.
